Category Archives: Gift ideas

Sometimes it’s hard to find a nice little something to gift to somebody you appreciate. I’m planning to start sharing ideas I stumble upon here with you in the future.

Never too late

Guys, I’ve been keeping a secret from you and I finally found the time to share it with you. It’s a delicate matter, I know that some of you will be very irritated, so please hear me out, before you go all this is so not Anna on me.

In a surprising turn of fate, I kind of fell in love with a couple of Pandora rings. I know, I know, I know – Yes, me. The ever critical, ever contemptuous Anna. I’m standing in front of you and I’m willing to admit that I might have been wrong on one or the other occasion. I will be giving Pandora rings a chance, from now on – see why:

Firstly, there are these cute flowery rings. If you know my rings, you know that I like to have tiny objects as a ring instead of just plain typical ones. For some inexplicable reason I’m lacking a flower ring, which is definitely something I will change in the future. For this reason, these two have caught my attention straight away as soon as I got to see pictures of Pandora’s new Spring collection. They do look remarkably natural on my fingers, what do you think?

The second pair of rings that got my attention are these two ones – one purple, one green, which is a fav color combo of mine. I absolutely love them and I will definitely want them as soon as they come out. I’m a bit sad that these are the only colors so far, though. I believe Pandora had these in pale pink and white before, but I am really hoping for them to follow up with yellow, blue, orange and flashy pink ones, so I can wear a rainbow around my finger. I’m super excited by the prospect of something which might never happen, which is always a great idea…

The new Spring/ Mother’s Day collection will feature a lot of other pieces, all of them affordable, including new charms, if you or your mother fancy them… This is just a selection of what, to my confusion, immediately caught my eye. The collection will come out in March, which is how long we all will have to wait – including me*. It’s almost sad it won’t be there in time for Valentine’s Day 😉

So here, I said it – I will definitely be getting the green and purple rings. Are you a Pandora girl? Let me know what you’re thinking.

It’s never too late to change your opinion, trust me.

Anna

*Because yes, if you were thinking that I have sold my soul for this post, you’re mistaken – being able to show you my fav pieces before they come out in March does not mean I get to keep them so you better believe that this is just me sharing my honest opinion. And now be a good girl, go to Facebook and give @girlcasm a like – xoxo

If I had a 100€… to spend on a man…again

A couple of days ago, somebody suggested I should do a gift guide for Christmas on the blog, saying that I tend to find pretty stuff on the internet. Personally, I suspect she’s just too lazy to browse the world wide web on her own and wanted to find some idiot to do the job for her – but of course I’m happy to do it (Thank you for the suggestion!! :*). I’m planning to make a series, featuring shop after shop, expensive and affordable, and to just let you know my picks. I have set a limit of 100€ as budget so I don’t get carried away too far there #addictswillknow – please let me know if you have another idea.

Everybody please congratulate me on finding additional stuff for men – something I consider rather hard. I hope here’s something you’ll want to consider – you’ll find the rest of the guides here.

1 Mini bar kit

It’s not like I’m convinced that anyone could ever really ‘need’ this – but don’t act like anybody you know already has something like this. 62€

2 Drone

Depending on what type of person your boyfriend is you might want to drop everything and f*cking thank me. A drone. For 115€. Yes, it is over budget, but do you know how much these usually cost? Yes, it might not be comparable in quality but who cares – he’ll love it. Men are kids. This is it, you’re done looking. F*cking buy it. You’re welcome.

3 Bed sheets

Let’s go on with dreams. This just might be something for your boyfriend, if he’s not at the stage in his life where everything has to be super sleek. I hope he is, so let’s have this in mind for your little brother or cousin. 27€

4 Cable Case

For the chaotic tech-guy. He needs it. 50€

5 Virtual reality goggles

I do not support this kind of stuff, but I’m still listing it in case you’re that kind of girlfriend – fun and all. Good for you. 20€

6 Charging case

And if you’re more of a psycho-ass girlfriend, you’ll love this one here. No more excuses about empty batteries, no excuses not to answer your calls, messages, snaps, you name it. Full control worth a 100€.

7 Dinosaur kit

Again, not sure if for your little brother or your boyfriend – I’ll let you decide. 72€

So, what do you think? Anything one of your boys will like? Let me know.

The drone, the drone, the drone, trust me.

Anna

If I had a 100€…all across the internet

For the last part of the guide – I hope you’ve had enough of all my suggestions, I sure do – I will just throw everything together that I could think of in addition to what I’ve looked up for you already. Let’s go:

1 Tote bag

Ensoie is a beautiful beautiful shop in the center of Zurich. Do their prices seem a bit high-ish? Maybe. Would I still love to own a couple of pieces? Of course. All of them? All of them. This tote bag here is one example. So greenie but so chic. And it’s still in the budget, so what the hell – Love rules forever! 55€

2 Espresso cup

Come on. Tell me their tableware is adorbs. I can’t. Make somebody drink espresso from this cup in the future, I’d consider it a real treat. 52€

3 Earrings

Found these clips a couple of days ago and I love them. They are a bit Dolce, without the price tag. They come in different colors, but I’d prefer this one. 50€

Pure oils trio

There’s nothing more luxurious than products made with simple, natural ingredients. Volià. These three here – just oil, no nasty stuff added, all you need for face, hair and body. You can buy them separately, of course, but all of three of them will cost you 75€ – so what are you waiting for.

5 Eye cushion

Kinda Kenzo. Kinda fun. Kinda worth 46€

6 iPhone case

Usually I’m not a fan of funky cases, but I love this one here. 12€

7 Chair

LOVE these chairs. #designfreakswillknow They come in different colors, at 91€ – how does that sound? Disclaimer: this one here is for kids – the bigger ones are a little more expensive.

8 Tableware

Kartell’s tableware is adorable, too. You can find a couple of pieces in budget on their website.

So that’s it. Last guide – over and out. I hope you felt a little inspired by one or the other gift idea. Please tell me you’ll miss me. xoxo

Oh my god the chair, trust me.

Anna

If I had a 100€…at Desiary

Disclaimer – this part of the guide is really grown-up. Find the rest of the guides here and only read on if you’re really really trying to find something for somebody else. Let me show you my picks from Desiary – an online shop that I am browsing from time to time, whenever I feel like I want to have my sh*t together:

1 Marble tray

First one and already I’m hitting you with a tough one – at least I would totally keep this one for myself instead of giving it away. In case you’re less of an egoistic b*tch than me: 49€

2 Colorful vase

You can never have enough vases, no matter if young or old. Why not have a colorful one? Available in different sizes and colors, about 34€

3 Decanter

Definitely something for dads. Or badass mums. Or an annoyingly grown-up boyfriend. No matter who’ll be the lucky one, you’ll be a 73€ lighter.

4 Glass cover

Look at this bourgeois pick. I’m kinda proud. For people who don’t inhale cheese as soon as they take it out of the fridge. They do exist. 50€

5 Wine journal

To be honest, I have no idea who I’d give this here to, but it would certainly need to be somebody who can say more about wine than those who stumble a couple of words about flowery bouquets now and then. Like me. 98€

6 Drip collar

For people who really really love wine. 21€

7 Vase

Yep, another vase – I’ve warned you that this one here would be rather grown-up. I seem to have a thing for vases, but maybe so does your mother. 22€

8 Lamp shade

I don’t know. Isn’t it cute? 99€

9 Porcelain bowls

I love them. You can use them for many things as they come in different sizes. Soap, maybe? 36€

10 Christmas jar

Fill it up with cookies and give it to your grandparents. Boom. 55€

11 Love tray

I’m a total sucker for Vitra, they have so much stuff I’m not sure I’ll ever need but then again I’m really sure I need them. Like this one here. 56€

12 Scissors

And finally, a pair of scissors. Because these here are beautiful. 29€

That’s it again. Remember, there are only two more guides to come, so let me know if you’ve been really really missing something in the last eight parts.

I’d go for one of the trays, trust me.

Anna

If I had a 100€…at Urban Outfitters

I got a quick one from Urban Outfitters for you today – find the other gift guides here. If you’re looking for stuff for a typical white girl you might find these picks useful:

1 iPhone fan

Kind of terrible meets kind of amazing. I’m sure you know at least one girl who’d be thrilled to get this little helper for her selfies. 9€ – boom

2 Selfie iPhone case

If you think that 70€ for an iPhone case is a lot, I definitely feel you – but trust me, this one here will be life-changing for at least one of your friends. Being able to take selfies basically qualifies as superpower for about 75% of females out there, whether they like to admit it or not. LuMee, 70€

3 Wine glass

It’s that easy. Totes relatable. 20€

4 Journal

And then something for her to write those dreams down so she can drink as much as she wishes without forgetting them. 25€

5 Chanel Catwalk book

Let her have at least some of that Chanel and let her take care of the rest in her dreams. 65€ for that complete Karl Lagerfeld Collections book.

6 Supermodel tips

This is not a UO link because I found it there about a week ago and it is sold out by now – see what I meant with white girl stuff? This book here seems to be a thing, you can still get it on Amazon, linked above. Backstage tricks and tips for achieving ultimate style, beauty and health, that only the professionals know. BOOOOM – not only for those who are models according to their bio.

I hope you liked this white girl selection. Please let me know if you’re missing a certain type of presents. I’ll have another three guides – one for men, one for parents, and one for women, all across the internet.

A combination of 2 & 6, trust me.

Anna
