Category Archives: Gift ideas

Sometimes it’s hard to find a nice little something to gift to somebody you appreciate. I’m planning to start sharing ideas I stumble upon here with you in the future.

If I had a 100€…at The Outnet

A couple of days ago, somebody suggested I should do a gift guide for Christmas on the blog, saying that I tend to find pretty stuff on the internet. Personally, I suspect she’s just too lazy to browse the world wide web on her own and wanted to find some idiot to do the job for her – but of course I’m happy to do it (Thank you for the suggestion!! :*). I’m planning to make a series, featuring shop after shop, expensive and affordable, and to just let you know my picks. I have set a limit of 100€ as budget so I don’t get carried away too far there #addictswillknow – please let me know if you have another idea.

I took a look at the Outnet for you and I have to say…in this budget, it is quite good for jewelry, as far as I’m concerned – I was disappointed by the rest, but maybe now, with today’s Black Friday discounts, you’ll be more lucky. Anyway, let’s see what I’ve found – you can find the rest of the guides here.

1 Earrings

Simple yet super pretty with their intense blue. They don’t look like their 58€ either.

2 Gloves

Merino wool and manis. for 40€

3 Earrings

Earrings again. These are more for daily business. 66€

4 Earrings

Oh look, earrings. How gorgeous are they? 89€

5 Pyjama pants

Personally, I’m a huge fan of long pants in bed in winter – hope I’m not killing the mood here. These aren’t too bad, are they. Calvin Klein, 30€

6 Track pants

Honestly, I’m a bit torn – can’t definitely say if these here are fugly or fun, you’ll have to decide. Let’s call them unusual and give them a chance? Zoe Karssen, 69€

7 Sweater

My fav. For a friend who can go all night. Eating and stuff. Être Cécile, 74€

I don’t know if this selection is exactly satisfying, but maybe you’ll find something you like. Let me know if you do – and stay tuned for the next round.

Toute la nuit, trust me.

If I had a 100€…at Shopbop

Let’s have a look at Shopbop today, which is a true gem around the budget of 100€ – if you ask me. Here’s my selection:

1 Vogue coloring book

A couple of my friends are into coloring, so yours might be, too. This is the most girly coloring book you’ll ever find. $13.00

2 Handbag raincoat

To be honest, I didn’t know this was a thing, but it makes sense, no? So if you know somebody with expensive bags, this might be something. $20.00

3 Love potion flask

I don’t know if there are women who carry flasks with them, but this might be just a reason to do so. What an adorable bottle. And yes, sometimes alcohol works like a love potion… $25.00

4 Pillow

This is obviously just a selection of my taste, so you’ll have to live with suggestions like this one here. I’m into pillows lately, and I like this one here for its happy colors. That’s it.  $55.00

5 Choker

I’m not into chokers, but if I was – and I’m sure all of us have at least one friend who is – I’d go for this one. $58.00

6 Money bank

If you want to teach a kid in your family some style in early years. $60.00

7 Passport case

It has glitter on it. That’s all. $65.00

8 Earrings

Classic studs with a nice twist. Why not. $69.00

9 Jewelry box

Practical and in an unusual color. I say yes. $89.00

10 Pencil case

Guys, this here is a pencil case. I’m done. $90.00

11 Pinky ring

Pinky swear, for you and your BFF. $95.00

12 Ring

And another one. Super pretty. $99.00

And that’s it. Anything you liked? Let me know! xoxo

You can find the other guides here.

The pinky ring, trust me.

If I had a 100€…to spend on a man

Gifts for men are always more tricky than for women, as far as I’m concerned, which is why this guide here is a random selection of ideas falling in this price range. There will probably be a part two of a guide for men before the time for Christmas presents is up. You can have a look at the rest of the guides here.

1Beanie

Let’s start with an important one. Men are like kids, you have to force most of them to cover their heads in winter. Maybe you can convince him with this cool piece here. No guarantee. Drake’s 52€

2 Pocket square

Every man needs a pocket square. Or a couple of them. He’d probably never go for a lace one, but he won’t mind some guidance. Marwood, 74€

3 Card holder

Card holders are important, too. This one here is much more subtle than a blunt Prada one. A.P.C., 80€

4 Cufflinks

He probably already has cufflinks – but are they as cool as these here? I doubt it. Paul Smith, 96€

5 Swim shorts

Personally, I find that men often wear boring swim shorts. Again, you probably know a man who could use your help. Polo Ralph Lauren, 85€

6 Keyring

A simple and elegant keyring for a grownup man. You’re welcome. Mulberry, 90€

7 Silk scarf

A simple and high quality silk scarf, as soft as your touch. Sorry, had to. Townhouse, 92€

8 T-Shirt

For fashion victims. Comme Des Garçons Play, 77€

9 Inflatable crown

This one here, paired with a couple of vouchers, naughty or nice..I’ll leave the rest to you. 7€

10 NASA Sweater

If he’s a bit geeky, he’ll love it. 29€

11 Sneaker cleaning kit

To give his beloved sneakers some new shine. 20€

12 Flask

I don’t know what the reason really is, but I know for a fact that men seem to love these – being able to casually share some sips with their boys at some boring venue. Ted Baker, 52 €

13 Wallet

Wallets are just another thing that men need from time to time. I bought the boy a green one two years ago, because I think it’s so much more special than just a black or brown one. Matt & Nat, 60€

We’re done here for the moment. I’ll let you know if I find another round of stuff to give to men. I’ll do my best. Meanwhile I’d love to hear from you if you found some of this inspiring or not.

I’d go for the sweater, trust me.

3 Laboratorio Paravicini plate

Another plate, I’m sorry – I’m just in the mood for pretty interior stuff. 48€

4 Vogue and the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute

Call it what you want – the perfect book for people who are truly interested in fashion or just a decorative object for Instagram or people who’d like to impress people who come to their homes. Either way I think it’s a nice pick I wouldn’t mind receiving. 56€

5 How to Make a Nation

Another book for show-offs, mostly – but if you have a super intellectual friend, Monocle guides are also a good choice. 62€

6 Karl Wall Decor

A small Karl to always remind your friend to get his or her sh*t together. 48€

7 Umbra frame

And finally, a fancy frame – because most people ruin  their homes with fugly-ass frames. 41€

I’d focus on pretty plates, trust me.
